Celebrate Ten Years of UBC Okanagan and Help Revitalize the Old Pond Trail

UBCO Old Pond Trail

This year, UBC Okanagan will be ten years old. To celebrate this milestone, the campus has exciting plans to redevelop a portion of the Old Pond trail system. The Old Pond loop gives everyone at the Okanagan campus access to the tranquility of a forest setting without having to ever go far from their class, lab or office. Please make a donation to support the revitalization today.

Just shy of one kilometre, the Old Pond trail is the perfect quick escape from hectic campus life. This project is focused on the renewal of a 400-foot section of the trail. Our aims include improving the path, creating a lookout, landscaping with stones, providing seating and installing a trail marker. The site will further be enhanced with indigenous plantings to encourage vigorous native growth.

The Learning Garden, University House, and Fire Pit are found along the Old Pond trail, and walking the loop allows students, faculty, staff and visitors to relax and unwind. The revitalization project will help make this popular trail safer and more enjoyable for all. Whether you are a walker, a birdwatcher, or simply enjoy spending time outdoors, your contribution will help to enhance a beautiful part of our campus, and everyone will see the benefits.

Please celebrate 10 years of UBC Okanagan by supporting the Old Pond Trail renewal. Your contribution will help to make our campus even more beautiful. Thank you for your generosity.
