Arthur Erickson Lecture Series

The Arthur Erickson Lecture Series is one of the many ways SALA (School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture) is raising awareness of issues surrounding our built environment and bringing the larger community together to learn and share ideas.

We strongly believe these educational and social opportunities, by fuelling the public discourse surrounding design issues, will strengthen the profession and lead to a greater common understanding of the needs and benefits of design, not only for our communities, but holistically for our society and environment.

The School is seeking to build an endowment of $250,000 to support this lecture series in perpetuity. The lecture series recognizes and showcases the works and talent of a leading Architecture professional, while allowing the greater community to share in the dialogue. The endowment will provide the funding for SALA to invite a guest lecturer and host a free public event for students and faculty of the school, professionals in the field, and interested members of the public.

In 2011, Jan Gehl spoke about cities for people to a full Vancouver Playhouse.
